Faced With Firing, Wheaton Professor Stands By Her Gesture Of 'Solidarity'

Earlier this month, it emerged that Wheaton College had begun the process of firing Larycia Hawkins, a tenured associate professor of political science at the evangelical Christian school. Hawkins was suspended last month after she decided to wear a headscarf during the Advent season to show solidarity with Muslims during a difficult period.

Religious voices respond to State of the Union

(RNS) In his last State of the Union address, President Obama made an impassioned case against religious bigotry and cast other key issues in moral terms. They voiced support and criticism on issues ranging from religious inclusion to same-sex marriage to Iran.
